An Overview

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide is ideal for individuals with a body mass index (BMI) of 30  or greater or adults with a BMI of 27 and at least one complication related to body weight, such as hypertension, insulin resistance, high cholesterol, or heart disease.

How Does Semaglutide Work?

Semaglutide is a type of medication called a glucagon-like peptide-I (GLP-1) agonist, which mimics the hormone GLP-1 that the body naturally produces. The breakthrough weight loss solution lowers blood sugar levels after meals. It regulates blood sugar by stimulating glucose-dependent insulin secretion.

Semaglutide slows down the release of sugar into your blood, so your body burns more fat. It also delays stomach emptying, leaving you feeling fuller longer and limiting your overall calorie consumption.

Several clinical studies show that weekly Semaglutide injections are highly effective at promoting weight loss. In one study, individuals treated with Semaglutide lost an average of 9-13 percent of their body weight over the course of a year without making any changes to their diet and exercise habits.

How Does Tirzepatide Work?

Tirzepatide is a peptide that is used as a weekly diet injection. Studies have demonstrated a 50% increase in bodyweight reduction in tirzepatide vs. semaglutide in a 52-week period. As a first to be a dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor co-agonist, tirzepatide is stronger in controlling blood sugar levels and acts as a potent appetite suppressant by reducing feelings of hunger while increasing satiety even with reduced food intake. Tirzepatide works for weight loss by decreasing appetite and slowing the movement of food from the stomach into the small intestine, which may make you feel full more quickly and for a longer period of time.

Is Medical Weight Loss Safe?

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are safe under medical supervision, producing far fewer side effects than most other weight loss medications. Some individuals report gastrointestinal upset, including nausea, stomach pain, diarrhea, or constipation. We also start you off at a low dosage and slowly increase it over time until we reach the ideal dosage for weight loss.

If you have type-1 diabetes or pancreatitis or if you or a family member have a history of thyroid cancer, we may recommend other weight loss solutions. Make sure to let us know about any health concerns to determine whether Semaglutide is suitable for you.
